Deborah Auger is based in France and is advising international companies in the natural resources and energy sector investing predominantly in Africa (due diligence, legal and regulatory risks, ethical risks, compliance, management, mining-related infrastructure agreements, application for mining permits and other relevant permits and licenses, agreements with the State etc.).
Before, Déborah was based in South Africa for 10 years where she run her own business.
Prior to that, Déborah joined the MagIndustries Group, a potash company listed on the TSX in Toronto, where she held the position of Director of Legal Affairs and Human Resources for Africa (2008-2013), based in Pointe-Noire.
Before that, Déborah worked as an associate at law firm Herbert Smith Freehills LLP (based in their Paris office) with a specialization in mining, energy, natural resources and infrastructures transactions in Africa (2005-2008).
Déborah is Avocat, registered at the Paris Bar Association (2005) and is Doctor in law.
Déborah holds a Master Degree in Business Law (University Paris-Sorbonne I), a Master Degree in Criminal Law (Aix-Marseille III), a PhD in Civil and Criminal Law with distinctions. Deborah is also graduated from HEC (Paris, Business school) with a specialization in the Management of International Risks.
Déborah has been lecturer at the Faculty of Law of Aix-Marseille III during 5 years teaching contracts and criminal law to students and speaker in various conferences. Her PhD research has been published in PUAM editions (2005).
